In the spirit of the month of Elul and in preparation for the chagim, join us for a Shabbat weekend retreat in the Old City and the surrounding nature of Tzfat—medicine in and of itself—to integrate the lessons of the past year and to cultivate vessels to contain it and capture new light in the year to come.
Retreat Schedule
Thursday
- Arrive by 4 pm, settle in
- Kabbalistic and somatic embodiment class with Miriam
- Dinner & song circle with special guest musicians
Friday
- Yoga in Sheva Chaya's art gallery
- Experiential, in-depth tour of Tzfat and erev Shabbos shiur with Rabbi Amichai
- Art workshop with Kabbalistic artist Avraham Lowenthal
- Kabbalat Shabbat ("choose your own adventure" — please ask us about the many shul options)
- Meet at Artist Quarter Minyan by 8:15 pm to walk to the Cohens' for Shabbat dinner
Shabbat
- "Choose your own adventure": Pray, sleep in, explore (feel free to ask for suggestions regarding shul options, kiddush, lunch, etc.)

- Shabbos afternoon shiur with Madison: Medicine for the Soul—Jewish Integration Techniques
- Third meal/Shalashudis at Madison's with closing circle

Madison Rachel Margolin
Madison Margolin is an author, journalist, and facilitator focused on the intersection of Judaism and psychedelics. She is the author of Exile & Ecstasy: Growing Up with Ram Dass and Coming of Age in the Jewish Psychedelic Underground, and two more books forthcoming, including a Jewish psychedelic practical guide. She is also the co-founder of DoubleBlind Magazine and the Jewish Psychedelic Summit, and has been published with outlets like VICE, Rolling Stone, Ayin Press, and others. Miriam Cohen
Miriam is a gifted teacher, therapist, coach, and co-director of Live Kabbalah, wife and mother of 10. She brings a unique blend of Torah insight, somatic embodiment practices, and deep intuitive guidance to her work.
