The Infinite Point: A Meditation on the Letter Yud
Jul 01, 2026A gentle guided meditation on the letter Yud, the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet.
Find yourself in a comfortable position. Relax your shoulders. Breathe in through your nose, and exhale through your mouth, loosening any tension in your body, allowing yourself to simply be here, and present.
The smallest letter, the greatest secret
The letter Yud is the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet. It is a single dot, a point that stems from the Infinite, the Ein Sof, and enters the world of the finite. It is the very beginning of structure.
Much like that Yud, we too are that point. It reminds us never to forget the point of our existence: our divine soul, which is one with the Infinite, and which is submerged within our finite body, our space, and our time. We live at the juncture of two worlds.
And although the Yud is only a point, it holds within it the ten kochos ha'nefesh, the ten foundational powers of the soul. The end and the beginning are interlocked. Hashem opens His hand, "Potei'ach et yadecha," and sustains every living being. Our lower point is interconnected with the higher point, and through it we are filled.
The meditation
Breathe in through your nose, and exhale.
Let yourself remember that you are that point, the Yud. A divine soul, one with the Infinite, held within your small and finite world.
Let yourself be filled by Hashem's wholeness. Filled in your ten kochos ha'nefesh, stemming from the point, the Yud, which holds the entire structure, the infinite unity and oneness, within your finite world.
Filled by the infinite goodness, the shefa of the Creator.
Breathe, and receive.
Wishing you many blessings, light, shefa, and abundance on every level: in your mind, in your heart, in your body, and in your material blessings.
