About
Hi, welcome to Live Kabbalah!
I'm Rabbi Amichai Cohen, director of Live Kabbalah.
I am thrilled to be part of your spiritual journey by spreading the wellsprings of Kabbalah and Chassidut to you!
Here's a little info about my background.
I am a direct descendant of Kabbalists Rabbi Avraham Azulai and Rabbi David HaCohen Skali. I received Rabbinical ordination from the Israel Beit Din and a Masters degree in Special Education from Touro College in NY.
I taught thousands of students of all ages and backgrounds in the capacity of community Rabbi, Lecturer, Special Ed. teacher, Kabbalah/Chassidut, Talmud teacher, and facilitator of workshops to Birthright students.
I live in Tzfat, Israel with my wife Miriam and 9 children. Besides my love for teaching Torah, I have a passion for wine, especially from the Land of Israel. I co-own a winery in the Upper Galillee called Earth & Air Winery.
Mission of Live Kabbalah
To teach, empower and inspire students with the ancient and timeless wisdom of Kabbalah. The goal is to generate spiritual growth, self-actualization and personal transformation, as indivuals, and as members of an interconnected global community.
What is Live Kabbalah?
Live Kabbalah was started when a group of close students gave me an ipad as a gift, as a way to continue learning and connecting as we relocated from Boca Raton, Florida to Tzfat, Israel. For 5 years the Thursday night classes were a source of learning, growth, transformation, laughter, and comradery. They seeked to stay connected via live video when I moved to Israel. The classes continued every Thursday night and Saturday afternoon when I gave a popular live class in Ascent, a center of spiritual learning in Tzfat. Spiritual seekers from all over the world would join for wisdom, truth and comradery. These classes were the catalyst for building the Live Kabbalah website, allowing these visitors and students from around the world to continue learning, growing, and connecting.
The aim of Live Kabbalah
The aim of Live Kabbalah is to make available the deep wisdom of Kabballah found in thousands of books, unattainable to the majority of individuals. These books are distilled, decoded, and summarized, making them accessible to all students regardless of language barrier and background.
In addition, building block concepts in Kabbalah are demystified, simplified and explained. Students will gain an understanding of fundamental concepts, allowing them to progress in their studies and ultimately best optomize their lives.
May you infuse these deep yet practical teachings in your personal life, by actualizing your soul mission by "making a dwelling place for G-D in this lower world".
Many blessings and light,
Rabbi Amichai
